Why the Mooserati name?
The idea of Mooserati name is obviously started with my interest in the Volvo P1800. This car is an excellent combination of the 1950s Italian sports car design and Swedish reliability and affordability not least.
The Volvo P1800 was designed by Pelle Petterson and the Italian design studio Frua. A coach building compapany that has done designs for Maserati, BMW, Renault, Opel and many other automotive companies.
Since the 1950 Italian sportscars are more or less impossible to afford for ordinary people, atleast in Denmark with the car registration taxes we have here, then the Volvo P1800 provides a modestly priced alternative.
So being 50% Sweedish and 50% Italian the Mooserati seemed a perfect name for a Volvo 1800 hobby page.
